One night. One show. The Grucci Fireworks show is the biggest, loudest, most spectacular moment of the entire festival weekend. Launched directly over Lake Ontario, choreographed to music, and ending with a sustained burst that lights up the entire sky. If there's one moment you don't want to miss at Harborfest, this is it.
This stunning 2021 fireworks footage was generously donated by Demetri of Photos By Meem. Check them out for more incredible Harborfest moments captured from the shores of Lake Ontario.
As good as it looks on screen, it doesn't come close to standing on that lakeshore when the sky explodes overhead.

The fireworks are visible from the entire Oswego waterfront — but some spots are better than others. Here are the top three places to be when the sky lights up.
Stake out your spot on the Breitbeck Park lawn as early as you can- some even put down their blankets in the morning (no blankets allowed until day of). The lawn fills up fast and the best ground-level viewing goes quickly.

Breitbeck Park Lawn
The main festival lawn puts you directly underneath the fireworks launch site. Unobstructed sky, reflected light on the lake directly in front of you, and the full crowd energy around you. This is the spot.
Main Stage area · Lawn seating
Bring a blanket or chair
Plan to arrive earlier in the day to get a good spot
Cahill Pier
The pier puts you right on the water with a wide-open view of the sky. Less crowded than the main lawn, with the added bonus of watching the fireworks reflect across the surface of the lake in front of you.
On the Water stage area
Open sky, wide angle view
Less crowded alternative
Bridge Street Overlook
The Bridge Street bridge over the Oswego River offers a slightly elevated view of the show with the city skyline and marina in frame. A quieter option for those who want to watch away from the main crowd.
Downtown Oswego · Bridge St
Elevated vantage point
Quieter crowd, great for photos
Blankets and Tarps: An evening crew will dispose of items left in the park after they have closed. The City of Oswego does not allow placement of tarps, blankets or plastic sheets in city parks for fireworks prior to Saturday at 6AM. Placement of stakes or rocks to secure these items are prohibited at all times.
Saturday July 25 · Between 9-10PM · Oswego Waterfront · Free
